AUDITION FOR YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX 2024
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world’s largest student ballet and contemporary competition. The competition is held annually around the world and is open to dance students of all nationalities 9-19 years old. YAGP also offers master classes with world-class dance instructors. The School of Eisenhower Dance Detroit provides the opportunity to attend YAGP and experience the thrill of attending such a prestigious ballet competition. 2024 location and dates will be decided upon once YAGP has released its 2023-2024 semi-finals schedule.

YAGP AUDITION INFORMATION
June 4th Audition
Levels 5 & 6 - 10:30-11:15
(and/or all current 1st/2nd co members)
Level 3 & 4 - 12:15pm - 12:45pm
(and pre-competitive ages 9-10)
CONTEMPORARY
Students auditioning for a contemporary solo will need to choreograph and prepare a one minute contemporary solo prior to the audition.
Students will NOT be judged based on their choreographic skills but the technique and performance quality demonstrated. We urge students to be creative and show us why they love to dance.
BALLET
Students auditioning for a ballet solo will learn a classical variation at the Student Company audition to perform.

Requirements:
Participants must be in an EDD student company to be eligible for a YAGP solo.
All participants must consistently attend their required contemporary class and three ballet classes per week from September through the date of YAGP.
Participants should meet with their assigned choreographer once a week for at least thirty minutes from September through the date of YAGP.
Dancers are expected to rehearse their choreography with another EDD instructor if the selected choreographer is unable to schedule sessions.
Parents/Dancers must attend the YAGP Mandatory Parent Meeting (DATE/TIME TBD).
Parents/Dancers are required to sign and return the Youth America Grand Prix Dancer Agreement on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
Fees:
Below is a breakdown of the ESTIMATED 23/24 fees associated with a YAGP solo (travel/hotel costs are not included). Fees are an estimate and will be final and agreed upon in the YAGP Dancer Agreement after acceptance.
$110- EDD Administration Fee for the first YAGP entry, $25 for each additional YAGP entry
$110- YAGP Registration Fee (this fee includes the masterclasses)
$115 per entry- YAGP Solo Fee
$350- Contemporary Choreography
$200- Ballet Variation
Each additional lesson is $30/30 minutes, $45 for 45 minutes, or $60 for 60 minutes.
Studio Rental fees are $15 per hour
